Summary

New Zealand’s End Game, built in 2018 by OYES Robotics in Auckland, is the country’s only BattleBots champion. Captain and builder Nick Mabey and Jack Barker lead the team, which is backed by the University of Auckland’s Faculty of Engineering.

The 110 kg vertical spinner in the 250 lb class originally used a 7050-aluminium frame, a 10 mm AR40 steel front wedge, four 6374 brushless drive motors and two 7050 brushless weapon motors spinning a 23 kg disc at 6,000 rpm; the single-tooth disc later gave way to an interchangeable asymmetric bar.

In 2020 (season 10, World Championship V) End Game won the Giant Nut with a 7-1 season, when the champion’s prize was 10,000 USD. Its career record is 23-11 with 19 knockouts. The robot competes in the 2026 BattleBots Pro League in Las Vegas and is therefore active. Other members are Steven Barker, Shane de Rijk, Devin Jerram and Emma McMillan; control is by radio.

For comparison, Witch Doctor also fields a vertical spinner but with twin discs rather than a single bar.
