Bite Force is the only three-time BattleBots champion: Paul Ventimiglia’s machine from APTYX Designs in Mountain View, California, took the Giant Nut in 2015 (season 6, ABC), 2018 (season 8, Discovery) and 2019 (season 9, Discovery). Its career record stands at 23 wins and a single loss, and no opponent ever knocked it out.
The 250 lb (113.4 kg) robot debuted as a grabber in 2015 and switched to a vertical bar spinner from 2016; the 2018 final ended with a knockout of Brazil’s Minotaur at 2:05, and the 2019 final with a knockout of Witch Doctor. Drive is electric with motors sponsored by Magmotor Technologies, and Ventimiglia drives by radio.
Team members over the years included Teena Liu, Jeremiah Jinno, Cory McBride, Travis Covington, Rob Masek and Tim Bogdanof. The champion’s prize under the 2016 format was 25,000 USD; the sums for 2015, 2018 and 2019 were not published.
Bite Force has not appeared in the BattleBots field since 2019 and is absent from the 2026 Pro League roster, so the catalogue treats it as retired, although no formal retirement statement appears in the checked sources.
