Summary

Medical-device engineers Andrea and Mike Gellatly from Miami, Florida, have fielded Witch Doctor in BattleBots since 2015. The 250 lb (113.4 kg) robot is recognisable by its vertical spinner of two skull-shaped discs in S7 tool steel turning at more than 4,000 rpm, figures taken from a Design News summary because the page itself was unavailable.

In earlier seasons it competed as a multibot with the minibot ‘Shaman’. Its best finish was the 2019 final, lost by knockout at 1:56 to Bite Force. The career record of 29 wins and 14 losses with 21 knockouts makes it one of the league’s longest-serving top contenders, and in 2026 it reached the semi-finals of the BattleBots Pro League in Las Vegas, so it remains active.

Alongside the Gellatlys the team includes Paul Grata, Richard Pease, Steven and Katheryn Sharp, Kurtis Wanner, Andrew Rudolph, Brett Heininger and Christian Chiriboga, and runs its own merchandise shop. Drive is electric with radio control; build cost and price are not disclosed.
