Elf·Xuan 2.0

Elf Xuan 2.0 neither walks nor lifts; its job is to look and move like a person from the waist up. AheadForm, a Shanghai company founded in 2024, gave the android second-generation silicone skin and a face with more than 30 degrees of freedom inherited from the first Elf Xuan. Brushless micro motors hidden in the head drive the facial expressions, enabling lip-sync for speech and singing.

New in version 2.0 is three-zone body control covering the waist, upper arm and forearm, while the shoulders and wrists stay fixed. The hands have five fingers. According to the maker, the android is coupled to a large language model so that it can hold conversations. Intended settings are stage shows, exhibitions, brand events, vocal performances and reception desks.

AheadForm publishes no height, weight, total degrees of freedom, sensor list or price; quotes are issued on request only, and the catalogue lists the model as a prototype. Conceptually it sits close to the British Engineered Arts Ameca and to Sophia, both of which also prioritise a realistic face over mobility.

Event organisers should note that the unit needs a fixed mounting point, since it has neither legs nor a wheeled base.
