Windows First, Robot Second

A window-cleaning robot sticks to the glass by suction, drives over it along a planned route and wipes it with a microfibre cloth. Before comparing models, count your windows, check whether they open, where the nearest socket is and whether you have frameless glass at home, such as balustrades or balcony glazing homes. The Robolupa catalogue lists ten window robots available in Poland window-cleaning robots, and we checked prices on 10.10.2026. Eight of them clean only when plugged into a socket. The WINBOT W2S OMNI and WINBOT W3 OMNI have a battery in the station and, according to the manufacturer, clean without a socket for about 1.83 hours. Floors are a job for a separate group of devices, robot vacuum cleaners robot vacuums.

Square Pad or Rotating Mops

Four models have two round, rotating microfibre mops: the ETA Finestro Smart, Sencor SRW 6010WH Aquino, Kärcher RCW 2 and HOBOT-R3. In the HOBOT-R3 one pad holds still while the other turns, which is how the robot moves across the glass HOBOT-R3. Among models with a stated weight, the lightest come from this group: the HOBOT-R3 (0.955 kg) and the Kärcher RCW 2 (1.1 kg). By its shape, a round pad reaches less well into the corners of a rectangular frame.

The other six models have a square body and a flat cloth. The HOBOT-2S has a cloth extended to reach deeper into corners HOBOT-2S. ECOVACS adds brushes along the frame: dense corner brushes in the WINBOT mini 2 and TruEdge brushes in the W series. The HOBOT-S7 Pro has two cloths that move quickly back and forth, much like a hand wiping glass. The heaviest in the catalogue are the square WINBOT W2S PRO and W3 OMNI, at 2.1 kg each.

Spray: Dual or Single

All the robots wet the glass themselves. Seven models have dual spray: two ultrasonic nozzles (ETA, Sencor, Kärcher and the three HOBOT models) or nozzles on both sides of the body (WINBOT mini 2). On the Sencor the spray intensity can be adjusted or switched off entirely, while the ETA wets the glass at one of two levels.

The WINBOT W2S PRO, W2S OMNI and W3 OMNI have single spray: one system with three nozzles, which according to the manufacturer helps with dried-on dirt and rain marks.

Suction: Compare Maximum With Maximum

Negative pressure in pascals tells you how firmly the robot holds on to the glass. The range in the catalogue runs from 3,000 Pa (Sencor SRW 6010WH) to 10,000 Pa (WINBOT W2S PRO and W3 OMNI). Some manufacturers give two values. Kärcher states 5,000 Pa maximum and 3,300 Pa in operation, and ECOVACS gives 10,000 Pa maximum and 3,300 Pa while moving for the W2S PRO and W3 OMNI. HOBOT states the suction of the R3 and 2S in kilograms (5 kg and 6.5 kg), so those figures cannot be compared directly with pascals. Higher suction does not make the glass cleaner: the cloth, the spray and the route decide the result.

Safety: Rope, Backup Battery, Cable

Every model in the catalogue has a backup battery that keeps the robot on the glass after a power cut. The Kärcher RCW 2 lasts longest (40 minutes), followed by the ETA Finestro Smart (up to 38 minutes). The ECOVACS W series holds for 30 minutes and the WINBOT mini 2 for more than 30 minutes. The Sencor and the three HOBOT models manage 20 minutes; the HOBOTs also sound an alarm. This is time to take the robot down, not to finish cleaning.

Always fasten the safety rope. HOBOT supplies a 4.5 m rope, ETA and Sencor 5 m each, and in the W series the power cable doubles as the safety line; the W2S PRO and W2S OMNI also come with an extra rope. The cable has to reach from the socket to the farthest corner of the glass. The WINBOT W2S PRO has the longest (8 m in total) ECOVACS WINBOT W2S PRO. On the W2S OMNI the cable to the station is 5.5 m, on the Kärcher RCW 2 and HOBOT-2S 5 m each, and on the HOBOT-R3 and HOBOT-S7 Pro 4 m each.

Frameless Glass, Mirrors and Shower Enclosures

On glass without a frame the robot detects the edge with its sensors alone. According to manufacturers or distributors, frameless glass is supported by the ETA Finestro Smart, WINBOT mini 2, HOBOT-2S with its four edge-leakage sensors, HOBOT-S7 Pro and the three WINBOT W-series models. The ELB sensors in the HOBOT-S7 Pro also detect narrow gaps between panes, which makes this model suitable for balustrades and balcony glazing HOBOT-S7 Pro. The W3 OMNI manual advises placing the robot away from the edge of such glass. Frameless glass is not listed in the data for the HOBOT-R3 and Kärcher RCW 2, and Sencor lists mirrors and shower enclosures but not frameless glass.

Shower enclosures are listed for the ETA, Sencor and W3 OMNI, and mirrors for most models. For narrow and tilt windows thickness matters: the WINBOT mini 2 is only 5.5 cm thick ECOVACS WINBOT mini 2. Also check the minimum pane size: Kärcher requires 35 × 35 cm, and the HOBOT-S7 Pro more than 50 × 50 cm.

Noise

Manufacturers state between 62 dB (Kärcher RCW 2) and 70 dB (ETA Finestro Smart, Sencor SRW 6010WH). The WINBOT W2S PRO is rated at 66 dB, the W2S OMNI at 68 dB, and the W3 OMNI at about 68 dB according to the distributor. Kärcher states sound pressure level while ETA states sound power level, so the comparison is approximate.

The most expensive are the ECOVACS W-series models at ecovacspoland.pl: the W2S PRO for PLN 1,999 (≈ EUR 460) and the W2S OMNI ECOVACS WINBOT W2S OMNI and W3 OMNI ECOVACS WINBOT W3 OMNI at promotional prices. When the promotions end they go back to PLN 2,699 (≈ EUR 620) and PLN 2,999 (≈ EUR 685). Only the W3 OMNI station washes the pad by itself.

What a Robot Will Not Do

  • The outside of high windows. You have to place the robot on the outer side of the glass, so the window must open. A window that does not open can only be cleaned from the inside with a robot.
  • Heavy dirt. A robot wipes; it does not scrub. The HOBOT-2S cloth does not rotate, so for heavy soiling the manufacturer provides a clean-twice function.
  • Edges and corners. The strip along the frame often needs a touch-up with a cloth, especially after round pads.
  • Working without power. Eight models need a socket within cable reach for the whole cleaning run.
  • Washing the cloths. Apart from the W3 OMNI, pads have to be washed by hand or in the machine; the ETA mops are machine-washable.

Frequently asked questions

Will a window robot fall if the power goes out?

It shouldn't, as long as the safety rope is attached. The backup battery holds the robot on the glass for between 20 minutes (Sencor SRW 6010WH, the HOBOT models) and 40 minutes (Kärcher RCW 2); the HOBOT models also sound an alarm. The battery only keeps the robot in place, it does not let it keep cleaning.

Which window robot can clean frameless glass?

According to the manufacturers and distributors, frameless glass is supported by the ETA Finestro Smart, WINBOT mini 2, HOBOT-2S, HOBOT-S7 Pro and the WINBOT W2S PRO, W2S OMNI and W3 OMNI. For balustrades and balcony glazing the HOBOT-S7 Pro fits best, as its sensors also detect gaps between panes. Frameless glass is not listed in the data for the HOBOT-R3 and Kärcher RCW 2.

Are window-cleaning robots loud?

Manufacturers state between 62 dB (Kärcher RCW 2) and 70 dB (ETA Finestro Smart, Sencor SRW 6010WH). The ECOVACS W series sits at 66-68 dB. For the HOBOT robots and the WINBOT mini 2 the manufacturers give no figure.

How much does a window-cleaning robot cost?

On the day we checked (10.10.2026) catalogue prices ranged from PLN 394.49 (≈ EUR 90) (ETA Finestro Smart at Morele.net) to PLN 2,499 (≈ EUR 575) (WINBOT W3 OMNI at a promotional price, regularly PLN 2,999 (≈ EUR 685)). The HOBOT-R3 and WINBOT W2S OMNI were also on promotion, so they may return to higher prices when the promotions end.

Can a robot clean the outside of a window on a high floor?

Yes, but only a window that opens: you have to place the robot on the outer side of the glass and fasten the rope inside the flat before letting go. Windows that do not open can only be cleaned from the inside.
