Prima 1

Prima 1 made its debut at the World Robot Conference in Beijing in August 2026 as Xynova's second line, this time without any tendons. Every one of the 22 joints has its own direct-drive motor, so the hand works with zero backlash and only 0.04 Nm is needed to backdrive a joint.

Control bandwidth reaches 1 kHz, force control starts at 0.5 N, repeatability is 0.5 mm, and force and position control are native rather than layered on top. The 190 mm hand opens and closes in 0.08 s, lifts up to 20 kg, and its four fingers together exert 15 N. All five fingertips carry visuo-tactile sensors.

Weight, interfaces and supply voltage are not published; the count of 22 actuators follows from the maker's statement of full direct drive at every joint. The product page offers an order button without a price, so it is on request. Prima 1 targets industry and research; in the same direct-drive class, Dex5-S also has 22 axes and a published price, and WUJI Hand 2 has 20.

Its hybrid sibling is the Flex 2.
