Flex 2

Xynova, founded in Hangzhou in 2024 by Alex Xia, presented the Flex 2 at ICRA in May 2026. The hand uses a hybrid drive in which tendons work together with direct-drive micro linear actuators, yielding 23 degrees of freedom at a palm weight of only 400 g; the actuator count is not disclosed. Single-hand grasp load is 12 kg peak and 4 kg continuous, and the hand can close a fist twice per second.

Repeatability is 0.1 mm, force control resolves 0.05 N, and the hand scores full marks on the Kapandji thumb-opposition test. Perception is multimodal, combining tactile sensing, proprioception and a wrist camera. The product page names neither interfaces nor supply voltage. The earlier Flex 1 offered 25 DoF at 380 g with a 30 kg load rating.

Xynova aims for a capacity of 10,000 hands per year by the end of 2026 from a 5,400 square metre factory. No price is published, so it is on request. The company's second line is the fully direct-drive Prima 1; among other tendon-motor hybrids, ArtiXon pursues similar goals with 20 DoF.
