WUJI Hand 2
Announced in June 2026, the WUJI Hand 2 keeps 20 rotary direct drives with FOC control, four per finger plus an opposable thumb, but this time the joints are backdrivable: according to the maker only 0.05 Nm is needed to move a joint from outside, and transmission efficiency improved by 20 percent.

The fingers gained a soft outer body, so the hand weighs 800 g with it and 650 g bare, at 180 by 80 by 40 mm.
MIT-style hybrid force-position control exposes its parameters to the user. The interface is RJ45 Ethernet at 100BASE-TX streaming 20 axes at 1,000 Hz; power is 11 to 13 V through XT30 from a 12 V, 20 A supply. The documentation describes a Hand 2.2 beta without tactile sensing, whereas a reseller mentions multi-axis fingertip force-torque sensing and quotes 580 g, so figures remain preliminary.
Payload and grip force are not documented. According to the Robotics Center store, October 2026, one hand costs 14,600 USD and a pair 29,200 USD; WUJI itself has published no price. The Dex5-S offers 22 direct drives for less than half that sum, while the archived WUJI Hand remains the reference for the first generation.
