Mia Hand in its Mk2 version is Prensilia's lightweight anthropomorphic hand, sold in three guises: as a prosthesis, which won the Compasso d'Oro in 2022, as an industrial five-in-one gripper with an ISO 9409-1-50-4-M6 flange, and as a research platform with ROS 1 and ROS 2 packages.
Three motors embedded in the hand serve four degrees of freedom: thumb abduction and flexion, the index finger, and the coupled middle, ring and little fingers. The hand weighs about 500 g and grips with up to 70 N in power, precision and lateral grasps. A force-sensing variant regulates grip force from embedded sensors.
Communication is UART over USB on the research version or RS-232, and power ranges from 9 V at 6 A peak to 24 V at 2.5 A peak. Software support includes ros_control, Gazebo simulation and MoveIt planning; the Mk2 user manual appeared in 2026. Dimensions, load and speed are not given in readable form by the maker. Applications are prosthetics, industry, research and humanoids; the price is on request.
Prensilia's more elaborate five-motor hand is the IH2 Azzurra, and a competing prosthesis is the i-Limb Quantum.
