Enabot EBO Air 2

What it's for

The EBO Air 2 is a ball on wheels with a camera that rolls around the apartment while you are away. In some variants it has a laser for playing with pets and night vision, so the camera also works after dark. Our catalog lists two applications: home monitoring and interaction with a pet.

Through the app you can steer the robot, check that the animal has water and, if your version has a laser, play with it remotely. In a home it is a simple alternative to a stationary IP camera, because the ball can roll to wherever you want to look.

In security it only makes sense to think of it in a home context. The manufacturer declares no certification or industrial-grade parameters, so it is not suitable for guarding businesses. The remaining technical data - weight, dimensions, battery life - has not been given, which makes comparison with other cameras harder. More about the segment: “Home robots”.

Who it's for

Yes: for owners of dogs and cats who want to see what is happening at home and also get simple entertainment for the pet. Yes: for people looking for one mobile camera instead of several stationary ones. Yes: for those who do not mind importing from the US.

No: for companies and protected facilities, because certification and industrial specifications are lacking. No: for people who expect a companion with a personality - EMO will do better for that. No: for those who want to know battery life before buying, because the manufacturer does not give it. It is also worth remembering that this is a camera in your home: privacy issues are covered in the article “Data Security: Robots with Cameras and the GDPR”. If you live in a multi-room house, keep Wi-Fi range in every room in mind - otherwise the ball will stop where the signal ends.

Deployments

The EBO Air 2 is sold through Enabot's own store and major US retailers, and there is no confirmed commercial partner in Poland. Cameras of this type are home products and do not appear in our listings as corporate installations; similar models are described in the section “Home robots”. Usage examples are shown in the description of the cheaper sibling EBO SE and in the roundup of home robots.

Enabot EBO SE - the cheaper sibling, without the optional laser, for about 120-139 USD. Good if you just want a camera on wheels.

Loona Petbot - a pet robot available in Polish shops, for about 2,099 PLN (≈ EUR 480). For those who prefer interaction to surveillance.

Amazon Astro - a home monitoring robot with Alexa for 1,449.99 USD; the business variant was withdrawn in 2024. More expensive and larger, with a different level of ambition.

EMO - a desktop companion with facial expressions, without monitoring functions. The choice depends on whether you want just a camera (SE), a camera with play (Air 2), or a robot for companionship (Loona, EMO).

The EBO Air 2 appeared in January 2024; our catalog includes a note saying that Enabot is launching a mobile camera robot on the market. The model is part of the EBO family, alongside the EBO SE from 2022, and represents the higher tier of features. The manufacturer, Beijing Sichuang Technology, is based in Beijing. No other generations have been noted. More about the company: Enabot.
