REK Inc. (Robot Entertainment Kombat)

REK Inc., short for Robot Entertainment Kombat, is a humanoid robot fighting league founded in 2025 in San Francisco by founder and CEO Cix Liv. eWeek reported in August 2025 that the company was self-funded, with Hubert Thieblot of Founders Inc. as an early investor. Human pilots steer commercial humanoids from Unitree and EngineAI through a VR headset or gamepad, and the robot mirrors their movements.

By October 2026 REK had staged 15 live events in three countries, from REK0 in September 2025 to the first armed ‘humanoid death match’ on 9 October 2026. The league also runs a simulator on Steam and iOS and a robot shop on Van Ness Avenue.

On 23 September 2026 the California State Athletic Commission issued a cease-and-desist over its human-versus-robot bouts; the brand page releases only logos, not photographs.
