Team HUGE of South Windsor, Connecticut, centres on IoT engineer Jonathan Schultz, who designed HUGE, a vertical bar spinner slung between two giant wheels. The robot has competed in BattleBots since 2018; in 2023 it went 8-1 in World Championship VII and lost the final to SawBlaze on points, finishing as runner-up. Its career record is 20 wins and 12 losses.
The team also includes Garrett Santoline, Don and Joe Doerfler, Brendan Steele, Maddie Thumma, Rory Mangles, Kathryn Allen and Peter Lombardo. Build costs have not been disclosed, and the robot’s unusual geometry has earned the team a reputation as one of the league’s most original builders.
