Automotive supplier Joyson Electronics from Ningbo surprised the industry at WAIC in July 2026 with a dexterous hand of its own. The company calls it the TeleHand Professional Edition, alongside a simpler Basic Edition; the name Pro P20 comes from outside the official material.
The five-finger hand fits 20 degrees of freedom into the outline of a human hand by combining direct drive, tendons and linkages in one palm. It is powered by frameless miniature actuators developed in-house, which Joyson credits with two to three times the torque density of conventional units while being about 50 percent smaller and 30 percent lighter.
An electronic skin covers the surface, measuring three-axis force in a natively decoupled way and detecting proximity. Weight, payload, interfaces and price have not been disclosed; the hand is a prototype, price on request. Target fields are industry and humanoids.
For another electronic-skin hand see Apex Hand; a 20-DOF hand with a large tactile array is the DH2015.
