Apex Hand

The Apex Hand is the first product of Dexcel Robotics, a Shenzhen start-up founded by former Tencent Robotics X engineer Yang Sicheng with CTO Li Wangwei. It is a five-finger hand with 21 degrees of freedom wrapped in a proprietary electronic skin that carries tens of thousands of tactile points and samples them at more than 1,000 Hz, the aim being human-like sensitivity down to the fingertips.

According to a trade article from September 2025 the hand lifts up to 30 kg, each finger exerts around 2.5 kg of force and positioning is accurate to 0.1 mm. Weight, drive principle, actuator count and interfaces are not published, and no sale has been documented, so the catalogue lists it as a prototype with price on request. Target users are humanoid builders and manipulation researchers.
