Delivered to SDIS du Nord in November 2023 under the Magirus AirCore TAF35 label, tested by Abu Dhabi Civil Defence in 2020 and named in reports from the 2019 Notre-Dame fire alongside the Paris fire brigade, the TAF35 is EmiControls' mid-size turbine robot.
Its 25 kW turbine produces up to 1,500 l/min of water mist, while high-flow mode pushes up to 4,700 l/min at 16 bar (4,000 l/min at 13 bar) through the monitor; reach is 60 to 80 m, the head tilts from −22 to +40 degrees and rotates beyond 360 degrees. Foam is supported, and options include a rail system, air ducts up to 100 m and a camera kit with thermal imaging and video transmission.
The diesel tracked chassis travels at 9 km/h and climbs 30 degrees; radio control extends to 300 m. The maker publishes no weight; a 3,900 kg value quoted in an academic review repeats the TAF20 datasheet figure and remains unconfirmed. A US distributor rates the machine at 1,250 gpm and 300 ft. Pricing is on request.
Against the LUF 60, the TAF35 nearly doubles monitor flow and adds reach, which explains its appeal for tunnel operators and industrial brigades that need large volumes of water or mist from a safe stand-off distance.
