Thirty units donated to Ukraine with German funding, a Bundeswehr fleet in Slovakia and Polish trials in 2026: within two years of its June 2023 debut, the GEREON RCS has become the most visible UGV from a European start-up.
ARX Robotics, founded in 2022 in Oberding near Munich, designed it as a van-sized tracked carrier: 450 kg empty, up to 500 kg payload according to the maker (Janes measured 600 kg on the 2023 prototype), 142 x 131 x 73 cm. The electric drive gives 15 km/h on the maker's page (press reports 20 to 30 km/h), 40 km range and up to 72 h of operation, with a 2.5 h recharge.
Mithra OS provides manual and autonomous modes, including follow-me, GPS waypoints and obstacle avoidance, at control ranges up to 4 km. The ARX Modular System offers five bolt-on surfaces for EO/IR heads, radar, radio direction finders, drone launchers, a stretcher or a weapon station; an infrared-suppressing coating and thermal night vision are standard.
The Bundeswehr has used the vehicle since May 2024 with its forward-deployed battalion in Slovakia and its Medium Forces; Ukraine received 30 in early 2025 with more following in 2026. The armed Combat GEREON with a Burya turret from Frontline Robotics or a Loki turret appeared at DSEI 2025, and a counter-drone version with Dedrone Defender 2 at AUSA 2025. Pricing is on request.
In size it resembles the Ukrainian TerMIT, while the THeMIS weighs four times as much.
