Chaos 2 remains the only robot to win the UK Robot Wars championship twice, taking Series 3 in 1999 (final against Hypno-Disc) and Series 4 in 2000. George Francis, a self-employed mechanic competing as Team Chaos, built and drove it by radio.

The robot weighs 84 kg (its weight at the final appearance in Extreme 2), measures 92 × 72 × 38 cm, although Wikipedia also gives 42 × 63 × 92 cm, and reaches 19 km/h on two 1 kW electric motors. Its CO2-powered pneumatic flipper made history as the first weapon to throw an opponent out of the arena, setting the pattern for a generation of flippers such as Apollo.

A single unit was built; it competed from 1999 until its last appearance in 2007 and now survives as a static display. Status: retired. The photo is by Martin Pettitt under CC BY 2.0. Pneumatic flippers remain popular in amateur weight classes because they need no high-speed rotating parts, which is one reason the design still influences builders.
