France's Naio Technologies, based in Escalquens near Toulouse, specializes in autonomous agricultural robots for vegetable growing, vineyards and horticulture. The range covers four models with clearly different uses: Oz, a small weeding and seeding assistant; Ted, a straddle robot for vineyards; Orio, a tool carrier; and Jo, a narrow-tracked unit for rows with tight spacing.

This segmentation sets Naio apart from single-product competitors among weeding robots, although other companies in the category also operate on the European market, for example Switzerland's ecoRobotix.

The manufacturer gives no founding year or financial data, and its website does not point to a distributor in Poland; agricultural robotics in the country remains dominated for now by occasional imports and pilot projects rather than a permanent sales network. For Polish vegetable farms and vineyards, Naio is more a source of inspiration than a ready-to-buy offer.

History and development

Naio Technologies is a French company from Escalquens near Toulouse that specialises in autonomous agricultural robots for vegetable growing, vineyards and horticulture. Public sources give neither a founding year nor financial data, so we will not fill them in from memory. What we do know is the shape of the range, which best tells the company's story. It begins with the Oz, a small weeding and seeding assistant for small vegetable farms. Alongside it the firm developed the Ted, a straddle robot for vineyards, the Orio, a tool carrier, and the Jo, a narrow tracked unit for rows with small spacing. Such a set means that Naio went the way of specialisation by crop type rather than building one universal vehicle. The strategy differs from single-product competitors in the weeding-robot segment and requires the company to maintain several platforms at once. The manufacturer's site declares European sales through a partner network, but it publishes no further details, such as the number of machines sold. Agricultural robotics is still a young industry in Europe, and this shows in the cautious data: machine prices are not public, and purchase usually happens project by project. How this technology looks from the Polish perspective is covered in “Robots in Farming: How Field Automation Looks in Poland”.

Portfolio

Naio offers four models. In our overview we describe the Naio Oz in detail: a compact electric robot that navigates a field by GNSS RTK on a map drawn in advance by the operator, with no physical markers. Payload is 60 kg, and runtime is up to 8 hours per charge. Working width up to 100 cm is set depending on the tool, and the list of interchangeable tools exceeds 35 items: seeders, brushes, rigid tines and leaf guards. The Oz can also carry crates and pull small trailers. Its uses are seeding, weeding and hoeing, soil cultivation and transport. The other three models are described only in general terms: the Ted for vineyards, the Orio as a tool carrier and the Jo for narrow rows. We state no parameters for them because we do not have them in verified sources. The manufacturer does not publish the Oz's price on the product page. For the buyer it also matters that each field has to be mapped separately. You will find supplementary uses in the sections “Agriculture” and gardens, and an overview of the category in specialist robots.

Market position

Naio stands out for the breadth of its family in a niche where many players have a single product. Segmentation by crop type — vegetables, vineyards, narrow rows — lets the company serve different customers under one brand. Competition is nonetheless real. In vegetable growing the Oz's direct rival is Denmark's FarmDroid with the FD20 model, which combines seeding and mechanical weeding in one solar-powered machine. The difference in approach is that FarmDroid works more autonomously through the whole season, whereas the Oz needs more frequent operator attention. Switzerland's Ecorobotix is also active on the European market; we describe its Ecorobotix ARA separately, and it bets on precision spraying. The Oz's strong side is its versatility of tools, its weakness the need to map every field and the limitation to light cultivation tasks. We have no market-share data, so we give none.

Presence in Poland

The availability of Naio in Poland has not been confirmed from sources. The manufacturer declares European sales through a partner network but names no Polish distributor, and we found no documented Polish deployments. The agricultural robotics segment in the country remains for now dominated by occasional imports and pilots, with no permanent sales network. For Polish vegetable farms and vineyards Naio is therefore more an inspiration than a ready offer. If you are planning an investment, check the financing options in “Poland's Robotization Tax Relief”. Remember too that deploying an agricultural robot requires field mapping, operator training and local service, and none of these has been confirmed in Poland.

Editorial verdict

Naio is an interesting offer for small and medium vegetable farms and vineyards, with a wide choice of tools and models. A public price, a confirmed distributor in Poland and documented Polish deployments are missing. Recommendation: for a Polish farmer it is for now a source of ideas and a reference point, and a purchase would require a direct enquiry to the manufacturer or its partners. Before talking to the manufacturer, prepare a list of crops, row widths and expected tasks, because they will decide the choice of model.
