The IRIM Lab at KoreaTech in South Korea is led by Prof. Kim Yong-jae. The team became known for the research hand FLLEX Hand, whose fluid-lubricated fingers work without bearings or metal hinges and therefore absorb impacts. The paper on this mechanism, published in 2019 in IEEE RA-L by Kim Yong-jae, Junsuk Yoon and Young-Woo Sim, won the best paper award at ICRA 2020.
