Prodromus is a Polish rehabilitation-robotics company founded in 2013. It makes the Prodrobot, an automated gait-training device for children with cerebral palsy, spina bifida and gait disorders following neurological injuries, as well as an adult version, the Prodrobot Magna, together with a biofeedback system.
The device helps the physiotherapist deliver repeatable, controlled gait exercises, which is hard to sustain by hand over long stretches of intensive rehabilitation. The company exports to a dozen or so countries (China, Saudi Arabia, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Germany, Romania, Hungary, Ukraine, Switzerland, Mexico and Turkey) and is pursuing US certification (FDA), which would open the world's largest medical market.
In rehabilitation robotics Prodromus competes with more expensive Western systems (for example the Lokomat from Switzerland's Hocoma), offering a solution designed from the ground up with pediatric patients in mind.
