Pressure sensing covers the whole hand rather than only the fingertips: fingertips, finger joints and palm all measure in a range of 260 to 1,260 hPa with 1 kPa accuracy, and the fingertips carry colour light indicators that signal contact. Control works in current mode, which equals torque mode, or in position mode, with adjustable stiffness and compensation for friction and temperature.
Holding torque is 0.92 Nm and rated torque 0.23 Nm; the supply is 24 V, 5 A and 120 W, with operation from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. Unlike the CAN-based older models, the V6 F communicates over RS-485 and Ethernet using Modbus RTU and TCP. According to the maker the hand is more than 20 percent smaller than its predecessor, and a V6 V variant with vision-based tactile sensing has been announced.
Resellers list the price as on request. Against the Korean DG-5F-S, also with 20 DoF, the V6 F is heavier but carries pressure sensing as standard.
