Sanctuary AI in Canada has been developing its own hydraulic hands since 2018 for integration on industrial arms and on the Sanctuary AI Phoenix humanoid. The product page describes an advanced 17-DoF design with integrated tactile sensing that runs on compact hydraulic valves at low pressure with minimal fluid volume. The company's blog refers to five-fingered hands.
Control relies on reinforcement learning in NVIDIA Isaac Lab; in a demonstration the hand rotated a cube in-hand ten times in a row without task-specific training, using a 500 g test load. Weight, grip force, payload, interfaces and power supply are not published, and one press report from April 2026 cites 21 degrees of freedom, which differs from the maker's own figure.
The hand is listed as in development with pilot programmes announced, hence its prototype status; price on request. It is the only valve-based hydraulic hand in the catalogue next to the water-muscle Clone Hand, while Tacta Hand uses fluid pistons inside the fingers.
