R2
The R2 is OceanTrix's compact, lower-cost companion to the R1. It keeps five fingers, six degrees of freedom and motors inside the hand, but the force figures are lower: 20 kg per hand, 6 kg per finger and 20 N of finger force.

The R2 is OceanTrix's compact, lower-cost companion to the R1. It keeps five fingers, six degrees of freedom and motors inside the hand, but the force figures are lower: 20 kg per hand, 6 kg per finger and 20 N of finger force. The opening reaches 100 mm and a full open takes 0.65 s, marginally quicker than the larger model. Ten touch sensors can be added as an option.
The notable upgrade is connectivity: alongside RS-485, CAN FD and Modbus-RTU the R2 adds EtherCAT, and the supply window widens to 12 to 64 V, which simplifies mounting on industrial arms with different bus voltages. The same Python and C++ SDK gives a control cycle of 10 ms or less and 0.1 mm accuracy. The maker does not state the weight.
Target fields are industry, research and education, so university teaching labs are explicitly included. There is no list price; quotes are on request. Buyers needing more force go to the R1, while those wanting an affordable six-axis hand with EtherCAT will find the R2 the more practical choice.
