Sold by Magirus of Ulm and, according to Cleanthinking, developed and built by Alpha Robotics Germany in Vechta, the Wolf R1 is a battery-electric tracked firefighting robot weighing up to 900 kg and measuring 150 × 120 × 130 cm.
Two 7.5 kW motors with 1,050 Nm draw on an 8.8 kWh lithium-ion pack that swaps without tools; top speed is 15 km/h. The water and foam monitor delivers up to 2,000 l/min at 10 bar, throwing water about 65 m and foam about 45 m, while a 220,000 m³/h fan clears smoke.
A winch rated around 2.4 t, 4 t of pulling force, a 3 t towing capacity and 50 l/min self-protection nozzles complete the kit; a manipulator, a Raman spectrometer and drone escort are options. Radio control reaches 150 m in line of sight and up to 2,500 m through a carrier vehicle with TacticNet, and the robot can enter and leave a room semi-autonomously.
Operators include the Hanau fire service (regular use since October 2024), the LINZ AG works brigade, Ehrwald in Austria with the first production unit, Ukraine's DSNS in Ternopil and Mykolaiv, and ci4c GmbH since July 2025. Compared with the Colossus, the Wolf R1 is heavier but brings a far larger fan and a longer command link.
Pricing is on request; the broadcaster hessenschau calls the purchase simply expensive.
