Summary

Avatar Robotics of Zhengzhou, a dealer in servos, grippers and robot parts, offers the Intelligent Bionic Hand TD-RH-1 as an affordable five-finger hand for humanoids, research and teaching. Six brushless FOC servo motors inside the hand provide six degrees of freedom, although the maker's own tables list five joints in one place and three finger joints in another without explanation.

Every finger is driven individually, the thumb in two directions with 90 degrees of lateral travel. The hand weighs 480 g and is 205 mm long, the palm measuring 80 mm, the maximum width 132 mm and a finger 97 mm. Fingertip force is 10 N, thumb force 12 N; finger motion is commanded in steps at up to 6000 steps per second, where 1024 steps equal 90 degrees.

Torque control offers several force levels, and a variant with an EMG electrode array lets muscle signals drive the hand. It runs on 12 V, drawing 200 mA at rest and up to 3 A, and talks RS485 or CAN; the L/R-BT variants add Bluetooth. Programming is possible in Python, ROS or C++. There is no tactile sensing and no published load rating. Pricing is by e-mail enquiry only.

In the same class of six motors and roughly half a kilogram sits the CR Hand, lighter and cheaper but 3D-printed.
