Textron Systems of Hunt Valley, Maryland, part of Textron Inc., has owned Howe & Howe of Waterboro, Maine – creator of the fast tracked Ripsaw family – since 2018. Within Team Ripsaw, which also includes Teledyne FLIR, the company built the RIPSAW M5 robotic combat vehicle (four prototypes for the US Army's RCV-Medium programme in 2021) and the smaller RIPSAW M3, delivered to the US Army as prototypes in October 2024 and sold to Sweden in December 2025 as the first European customer.
The US Army halted its RCV programme in May 2025, yet an M5 still rolled in the Army's 250th-birthday parade a month later.
