A hand weighing 290 g that is said to squeeze with 500 N: the Pantheon Hand 20 from Stella Robot, also known under its Chinese name 星际光年, achieves that ratio by moving the actuators out of the hand entirely.
A hand weighing 290 g that is said to squeeze with 500 N: the Pantheon Hand 20 from Stella Robot, also known under its Chinese name 星际光年, achieves that ratio by moving the actuators out of the hand entirely. Tendons run from a drive unit housed in the robot's forearm, upper arm or chest, an arrangement the maker calls drive-hand separation. The hand has five fingers with a thumb and twenty degrees of freedom.
Its distinctive feature is an automatic, instant tendon-tensioning algorithm meant to counter material creep, thermal drift and wear, the classic weaknesses of tendon designs. Every figure comes from trade-press coverage of the WAIC show in Shanghai in July 2026, which repeats the maker's claims; no datasheet has been published, and the company's site lists a Pantheon Hand 22 alongside.
Sensors, interfaces, payload, power supply and sales status are not disclosed, and the show slogan about hands at ten thousand yuan was a target rather than a price list, so the price is on request.
Among tendon hands the Shadow Dexterous Hand weighs fifteen times more with its forearm; the electric sibling is the modular Gaia Hand 20, and DEX-EE shows the opposite extreme of putting mass into the base.
