DexHand021 S

Not every task needs five fingers, and the DexHand021 S from DexRobot is the entry-level answer: three fingers with 8 degrees of freedom, driven by motors inside the hand through gears, cable pulls and linkages. At 600 g and 208 mm it is far lighter and shorter than its sibling DexHand021.

Rated payload is 2.5 kg with a 5 kg maximum, and the finger structure is graded for force: at least 20 N at the tip, 45 N at the pad and 100 N at the base. Besides joint position sensing, a 5 MP camera in the palm with a 76-degree field of view and 30 frames per second lets the robot look at an object as it closes in.

Capacitive tactile sensors for normal force, shear and proximity are optional rather than standard. Control uses CAN FD or RS-485 at 24 V, and the hand is rated for 200,000 cycles. Price on request. DexRobot positions it for research and industrial use.
