Skild AI is a Carnegie Mellon University spin-off that does not build robots but sells software: the "Skild Brain" foundation model, which works independently of the hardware platform, from quadrupeds and humanoids to stationary arms and mobile manipulators.

Skild Brain 1.0 has 500 billion parameters and was trained on data from 10,000 robots spanning more than 200 hardware platforms, including Unitree, Zhiyuan humanoids, Boston Dynamics quadrupeds and Amazon Robotics manipulators. According to reports from December 2025, the company was in talks with SoftBank and NVIDIA about funding at a valuation of about USD 14 billion.

Unlike hardware makers such as Unitree or Figure AI, Skild competes in the robot's "brain" layer rather than the machine itself, a model closer to Physical Intelligence than to classic humanoid builders. A commercial presence in Poland has not been confirmed.
