Alt-Bionics of San Antonio, Texas, was founded by Ryan Saavedra and began with low-cost bionic prosthetic hands. From that experience came the robotic Surge with six self-locking motors, unveiled in December 2024 and sold since 2025 for humanoids and for RealMan, Kinova and Franka arms, with Manus glove teleoperation.
In Europe the German shop MyBotShop carries the hand and quoted 8,925 EUR including VAT in October 2026. The company's founding year is not part of the data package.
