Spectre is a British crusher in the 110 kg class built by the robot studio Robo Challenge of James and Grant Cooper, with Nick Cooper and Henry Imbert also on the team. It debuted in 2017, uses electric drive and radio control, and attacks with hydraulic jaws that crush an opponent’s armour, the concept made famous by the retired Razer, which Robo Challenge also tours.
According to the available sources, Spectre won the first season of China’s King of Bots (铁甲雄心), which premiered on Zhejiang TV on 8 January 2018 with 48 teams from China, Russia, the UK and the US, beating Chiyung Jinlun in the final.
This needs qualification: the title and team line-up come from summaries of a blocked fan wiki, while the Chinese portal pedaily confirms only the participation of a UK team (‘机械时代’) and a prize pool of ‘several million yuan’ without a figure. Weight, dimensions and hydraulic data have not been published. The robot remains active in Robo Challenge demonstrations.
The entry is weakly documented and should be re-verified before publication.
