Monkey King is a single-seat giant mech prototype that the Beijing company Greatmetal unveiled in April 2017 at the G-Festival in Beijing, where it stood next to MegaBots’ Mk.II. Inspired by the Monkey King of Chinese literature, the machine moves on all fours or rises onto two legs to wield a fighting staff, the only weapon documented. A pilot sits on board.

Greatmetal sought to join the giant-robot league that MegaBots was planning, but a bout against Eagle Prime or any other mech never took place and the league itself was never founded. The maker published no weight, dimensions, drive type or price; the sole material is a 2017 promotional video described by Engadget.

One prototype exists, the status remains ‘prototype’, and no fights or further development are recorded. The entry complements the two mechs of the Giant Robot Duel by showing that a Chinese team also tried to enter piloted-mech combat in 2017. The designer’s name appears only in search-engine summaries and is therefore not given here.
