Diehl Defence

Diehl Defence in Überlingen on Lake Constance is the defence arm of the family-owned Diehl Stiftung & Co. KG of Nuremberg, better known for missiles and ammunition. In ground robotics it offers the UGV Ziesel, a militarised version of the Austrian Mattro Ziesel electric tracked platform fitted with Diehl's own PLATON autonomy kit, which enables follow-me without LiDAR or GPS and route repetition.

The Bundeswehr is evaluating two prototypes, Ukraine has trialled the vehicle, and it won the 'Mule' scenario at the ELROB robotics trials twice in a row. Diehl maintains a press area but publishes no usage terms for its photographs.
