The FarmDroid FD20 is a solar-powered field robot from Denmark that both sows and weeds. The first unit was sold in spring 2019, and FarmDroid says more than 500 robots now work in fields across Europe and beyond. The robot records the GPS position of every seed with 8 mm RTK accuracy and then weeds mechanically between and within the rows; the optional +Spray system adds precision micro-spraying.
The 2025 factsheet lists a standard weight of 1,250 kg, a working width of up to 3.5 m, 2 to 12 rows, a maximum speed of 950 m/h in automated mode and a daily capacity of up to 5 ha. Four solar panels keep it working 18 to 24 hours a day depending on weather, and extra batteries are optional. It handles more than 50 crops. In Poland, Farmsystems sp. z o.o. in Kraków distributes FarmDroid.
