Mitsubishi Electric is one of Japan's oldest industrial groups, founded in Tokyo in 1921 and listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TYO: 6503). In robotics the company develops the MELFA line, which includes RV-series articulated arms, RH-series SCARA (horizontal) robots, and F and CR models, aimed mainly at precision assembly and general material handling.

Unlike many of its Japanese competitors, Mitsubishi Electric has its own branch in Poland (Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. Poland Branch) and a network of independent distributors, including ENEL-Dystrybucja, PG Systems and MPL Technology, which makes service and local availability of spare parts easier. There are no separate model cards for this brand yet.

The company competes head-on with Fanuc and Yaskawa in industrial arms; the manufacturer does not publicly disclose headcount in its robotics division.
